Tribal Member Employment Policy
THTBC has two major policies regarding Tribal Members jobs and opportunities:
Tribal Members Preference
THTBC’s policy promotes direct employment opportunities for Tribal Members by providing preference to Tlingit Haida Tribal Members and spouses. When a Tribal Member candidate meets the qualifications stated in the position description for a position being recruited, the Tribal Member will be given preference over non-Tribal Member candidates with the same qualifications.
Tribal Members Economic Opportunities
THTBC’s policy promotes utilization of Tlingit Haida Tribal Member-owned companies and professionals within the corporate headquarters and subsidiary companies.
It is THTBC’s policy to advocate for and provide preference for utilization of Tribal Member-owned companies and professionals that meet the business standards of THTBC and demonstrate a record of Tribal Member employment.
THTBC subsidiaries are required to institute an aggressive effort to ensure that preference is given to businesses that meet THTBC’s standards in accordance with the above priority. Management is required to carry out these policies and report regularly to the Board of Directors.
